A girl’s guide to BIG hair

It’s back: full-body, pumped-up, sexy hair.
Lacking-body hair is often fine, dull, and may easily become greasy and limp. Sensitive to humidity and static electricity, fine and limp hair have difficulty holding any style. That’s why it needs specific products and specific tricks.
And if you’re thinking, I don’t want big hair, I want straight hair, remember that even straight styles need volume to keep them from looking lifeless and flat.

Before blowing dry, use a root lifter from midshaft to root.
For maximum results, lift sections of hair upward as you blowdry, directing the hot air (not too hot, please) directly toward your scalp. This dries the roots in an upright and lifted position.
Instead of teasing your hair with a comb, use a flat-backed brush which will damage your hair less since its bristles are spaced apart more widely.

Backstage beauty at Agnes B: Sonia Deveny uses Organic GlamSonia Deveny, Chief Makeup Artist at the Agnes B show, chose Organic Glam - the UK eco-friendly cosmetics line by The Organic Pharmacy - to create Agnes’s vision: “She wanted the girls to look healthy, glowing with an edge of Parisian chic.”
Backstage at the Spring/Summer 08 Agnes B collection it was all about flushed cheeks and nude lips.

Step by step, this is what Sonia did, so you can recreate the same runway chic look:
• To create the luminous skin essential to the models’ look Sonia Deveny mixed a bit of Sheer Tint in Ivory Glow with Antioxidant Foundation.
• She used OG blush in Peach on the apples of the cheeks and Peach shadow from the nude palette all over eye lid with Matt Brown on the outer corners and under blending well.
• Highlight shimmer in Silver Ice on the inner corners of the eye and along brow bone and cheek bones created the fresh dewy look.
• Nude lipstick on conditioned lips creates the fresh, healthy glow essential this spring.

According to a recent survey the average working mom spends 75 minutes a day preparing meals and devotes a mere 4 minutes to her makeup. The Urban Apothecary Five-Minute Makeover brings your beauty routine up to speed. Now looking gorgeous 24/7 is possible for busy gals who want minimal mirror time.

1: Plump
For waif-like starlets, ‘plump’ is a dirty word. But not when it applies to skin. Quench thirsty skin by applying a moisturizer or primer prior to foundation. Do double duty by using a tinted moisturizer and skip the foundation.

2. Brighten
Apply concealer to the under eye area, inner corner of the eyes, and on any blemishes or discolorations you want to camouflage. Blend well.

3. Pop
Dust blush on the apples of your cheeks and lightly brush up your cheekbones towards your hairline.
