MAC Cool HeatBeing the beauty forge that it is, MAC launches today a new makeup collection called “Cool Heat”, which is your passport to summer beauty.
The shades are the perfect summer pick me up’s: coral, tourquoise, blue.
It includes 5 new lipstick shades, 7 eyeshadows and 2 fragrances.
MAC’s description is “Some looks are too hot for summer to handle but not Cool Heat. Sweltering corals, chill-out blues, complemented by Turquatic and its warm new sister shade, Turquatic Heat, create this season’s coolest - and steamiest - beauty paradox”.

Our editors’ picks are:
Swelter Slimshine Lipstick (a sheer frost red);
Gulf Stream Eye Shadow (a pearly blue green);
Turquatic Heat (a jasmine, tiare, lotus and patchouli infused fragrance).

The collection is available here.

Armour Beauty

Armour BeautyThe brand new Armour Beauty is the creation of makeup artist Allison Burns and former singer of Lunachicks, Theo Kogan. They have joined forces and created a line of moisturizing lipglosses that contain natural ingredients such as olive oil, shea butter, avocado butter and vitamin E. I am not sure this is enough to call them “environmentally friendly” but I do agree they are cute colors within a nice, sleek packaging.

They named the brand Armour Beauty because beauty is a woman’s armour. That’s a point of view.

Perfect Pout

iconiconSpring 2008 lip trend: full, pretty, kissable lips with just a hint of sheer color.
Say goodbye to overapplied lip pencil and lipstick. Go for a chicer look: dab a sheer gloss. Or try shades you’d normally shy away from: because the effect is lighter than lipstick, you can use bright hues.
At the same time, lip glosses can now emphasize your pout, making it plumper, smoother, sexier.

Just take a look at the newest lipglosses for spring: they are clever little inventions that do more than just add shine to those lips of yours.
Perfect your pout with our new favorite lip product:

Too Faced Mood Swingicon - a supernatural formulation that starts off crystal clear and blossoms into countless shades of pink from cotton candy to deep fucshia depending on your emotional state. Are you in love-jealous-angry-happy-or hot and bothered? Your lips will tell the tale and allow you to express yourself like never before. Mood Swing’s secret blend of essential oils and extracts improves elasticity and rejuvenates your lips while natural sunscreens insure a younger looking smile.
ps: you can get Too Faced Mood Swing at beauty.comicon, and a free mini Lash Injection mascara with $25 purchase of Too Faced!

Dainty Doll by Nicola Roberts

Good news for red-heads, and generally fair-skinned girls around.
Nicola Roberts, from the band Girls Aloud, is about to launch a new makeup collection designed especially for pale complexions. Nicola, a beatiful red-head, finds it difficult to shop for makeup because it generally looks too yellow or too dark when applied on pale skin. So she just thought she’s create a new line of makeup to suit her needs! I personally see where this problem comes from, as I have the same difficulties in finding the right shades for my skin, too.

Dainty Doll, that’s the cute name of the line, has been developed by the cult makeup brand Jelly Pong Pong, and will be available April 18th. And just like MAC and Smashbox called upon artists to illustrate their packaging, Dainty Doll products are graced by the gorgeous artwork by Mari Kubota - a member of Osaka based art project digmeout - making this limited edition collection even more desirable.
