Tips to apply mineral makeup

Take your time when working with minerals. You will soon find an application method that works great for you. You’ll appreciate the evenness of the color, and concentration that the powder allows for light or heavy coverage.

These tips from Mineral Hygienics will help you get the flawless face you’ve always desired!

Prepare your Brush
Pour out a small amount of the minerals into the lid of the foundation jar. Swirl the brush in the jar, most of the minerals should disappear and be consumed by the brush. Tap the brush against the rim to set the minerals in the brush. This also should knock off any excess minerals on the outside of the brush. You do not want to have the minerals visible on the outside perimeter of the brush.

Tip: To set the minerals even further into the brush; tap the brush vertically one the end of the handle so the minerals will go straight down into the bristles. This method may require more buffing, but is helpful in situations where coverage is thick or un-even.

Foundation Application
In a circular motion, starting on the perimeter of your face begin to buff the minerals on to your face. While buffing work towards the center of your face to your cheeks and chin. Start with a thin layer of Mineral Foundation, and add more layers as needed. Repeat the steps above until you get the coverage you desire, keep in mind that you may need to reload your brush to achieve adequate coverage.

Blend, blend, blend, blend. It is really important to understand the importance of blending. Your Kabuki Brush is great and the Flawless face will work for applications with less product. Just blend in a down and out motion. Your skin should look completely natural. If it doesn’t, then you have too much product on and will need to take a clean unused powder puff or tissue and tap allover your face, and then continue blending.

TIP: It takes a few seconds or sometimes minutes for the minerals to warm up to your skin. In the beginning keep in mind that a little bit of minerals goes a long ways.
